Little is known about the extraterrestrials themselves beyond the eyewitness accounts of the Iceland Incident. Interviews with survivors gave largely contradictory descriptions of the aliens, attributed to poor battlefield visibility, the extreme psychological stress of the event and, in some cases, to the guilt of survival when so many others did not. However, close analysis of the data leads to three main descriptive profiles arising.
The first is of the the extraterrestrial guard drones encountered around the perimeter of the crashed vessel. Accounts describe powerful robotic constructs varying in stature from six to ten feet tall (assumed to be at the lower end of this range). These drones were reported to be armed with a variety of weaponry, including heavy weaponry that inflicted numerous kills on Soviet T-54 tanks as they led the attack. These drones were hardy adversaries but made no attempt to use the battlefield terrain to their advantage – simply marching forwards to engage the enemy where necessary. Reports suggest that sustained bombardment from supporting tank formations eventually neutralised these units and allowed the attack to progress onwards.
The remaining two profiles were of extraterrestrials defending the crashed vessel itself. The first somewhat resembled a generic ‘grey’ alien from popular fiction, but standing roughly tall as a man. These creatures were observed to be relatively human in their battlefield behaviour – although this could simply be attributable to personification of a foe otherwise utterly alien to the soldiers facing it. Nevertheless, reports suggest that these aliens wore a variety of durable combat suits and intelligently utilised the cover available to hold off the advancing troops for a number of hours. Troublingly, there were also unconfirmed reports of men collapsing with paranoia and hallucinations when engaging these targets. Given the hardened nature of both NATO and Soviet troops involved in this operation, our scientists theorise that there may be some form of mental warfare occuring.
Finally, the interviews refer repeatedly to humanoid lizard-like creatures participating in the battle, although first-hand reports vary wildly in content. The majority of reports refer to tall, muscular scaled creatures ambushing soldiers as they closed on the UFO using predominantly short-range weaponry. However, a sizeable minority of survivors also report that these creatures were seen rising from the ground and fleeing back to the UFO even after sustaining what had previously been assumed to be fatal wounds. Despite the attempts of our scientists to do so, these events cannot be confirmed and may be attributable simply to battlefield confusion – or perhaps to a cause as simple as the aliens playing dead after sustaining injuries.
It is difficult to divine any genuine information on our alien foes with only eyewitness accounts from twenty years prior. The capture of fallen aliens, or even living ones, would be the ideal way for our scientists to begin to understand the biology, origins and perhaps the weaknesses of our attackers.
